A good capture with nice DOF and bokeh. Needs a little brightening up of the shadows a bit.

Very expressive back-lit portrait. Regardless of any rule of thirds, I like the extra space on his left. It enhances his thoughtful expression and "goes with the game", as it were. Good work.

Great portrait. The backlight is very good and yet, you still have good lighting on the face. Great bokeh as well. Nicely done.

Not bad but some fill lighting would have done wonders for this shot.

a little more light on the face, but really a nice charater study

Good DOF. Some more face lighting would be nice. A reflector or dim flash would help IMHO.

love the lighting on the hat - but his face is a little underexposed and could probably benefit from a little curves adjustment.

Normally, I'd note that his face is in shadow. But, in this picture it works - almost as if you've substituted shadow for soft focus. This, combined with his expression creates a soft mood that his eyes and mouth hint is not the whole story. The depth of field assures your focus is where it should be, and there is nothing distracting in the background.

His face is slightly underexposed, maybe using a reflector or fill flash to brighten the face. Nice composition and colors.
