breathtaking sunset, lose the swing.

oh yes - also very gratifying to be the blue-ribbon swing shot :)

Longfellow @ The Strand in Hermosa Beach - where I went when I went to the beach as a kid --- Swing-set is a 4-seater, this was the only unoccupied one, lucky for me - the paper said sunset was at 7:24, so I was ready - but the darn kids wouldn't leave!

Very nice shot! The only thing someone (notme) could gripe on is the sun being a little out of focus. Again Very Nice!

Now this is a really cool picture. In my top 5 for sure. 9.

Beautiful pict., got the challenge met plus a pretty sunset. Sun looks out of shape(not round) though. Did you resize or something?

With the amount of swings in this challenge I'm tempted to rate you low, but due to the photo being very very nice to look at, what with the silhouette and the sunset i'll give it a 9. For a 10 score you could sharpen the whole photo up, as nothing is really in good focus.

A lovely swing shot, beautiful background - fabulous colours in that sky and I really like how it graduates to white. Would like to see perspective moved just a little so there was more of a gap between bottom of swing and dark foreground. Sun seems pixelated.

I think this is the best "swing" shot of the bunch. The blown out upper sky actually makes a nice contrast with the chains.

beautiful :) I love the way this swing silhouettes in the sunset here... great shot :) - jmsetzler

great composition and the story is well caught

Wow! Weren't you in the right place at the right time! Great job.

Superb shot. Love the colour and the drama. I really like the composition; it has an emptiness about it, yet it's not sad. It looks like the sun is going down on a glorious day and you can almost see the faces of tired, happy kids after a fun filled dayâ€Â¦ The picture may have faults – but I can't see any (10)â€Â¦

A truly beautiful image. I like the setting in which you have captured this image. Great composition!! Well captured.

Very nice photo. I would have preferred some colour on the beach to distinguish the swing's silhouette further. Perhaps there is too much sky, but that's only my opinion. Well done!

my favorite of the swing series...

you live somewhere pretty! Very nice composition.

This is my second highest of the numerous swing photos. I liked this one due to the fact that it's not JUST a photo of a swing. There was some creativity involved in chosing where to find the swing and which one to shoot to get a good angle in relation to the sun going down. I like how it it shillouetted and I like how the "edge" of the water is parallel to the edge of the bottom of the frame. Nice placement, beautiful photo. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

I like the sunset in the background, and how it silhouettes teh swing. Maybe a little less sky, and a little more foreground would make it feel more complete to me though. karmat

Very nice composition. Soft focus on the swing is just right. 9.
