Dr. Seuss said that "Yertle the Turtle" was modeled after the rise of Hitler. The book explained his feelings about fascism, and Nazis in particular. You can read the text here.

| I'm glad you resisted the urge to stack them before you took the picture, although it looks like the big one is taking a step in that direction. :D I liked Yertle, it was my favorite book. |

| Look at the moss on that turtle! Is its mouth open too? Very interesting find. I'd like to see a little crop off the top too. Nice pic! |

| Image doesn't really bring out the subject well, and you seem to have a purple-fringing (chromatic aberration) problem with your camera. |

| The top of the image doesn't add anything to the composition. It might be better as a closer crop, possibly even pano. |

| In recognition of his first book, I would like to have seen some composition to bring the tribute together other than the title. |
