For this image I did a quick mask around my sons head and copied and pasted it into a new layer. I also inverted the selection and created the background as well. For the eyes I used Images>Adjustments>Variations I selection add green and then just started clicking all kinds of things. Once I found a color I wanted I edited that layer to only show the eyes and not everything else. I used the dodge tool to get that lighting effect. After some goofing off, 4 homemade cookies, 3 showers (1 was mine) 3 hours of CBS and some chit-chatting it was finally time to resize and convert to B&W.

Very nice portrait, I like the lighting. I would have liked to seen the whole top of his head though.

What a cutie! You did a great processing job - you had a lot of background to clear out - needs just a touch of cleanup around the ears, etc. The vignette works very nicely. Maybe consider just a touch more contrast and some catchlights in the eyes?

That is impressive! I really love how you did this with the vignetting to put light around your son. I think you did a great job!

Bit too much light for me and then the eyes look dark in comparison.

Also not loving how the frame chops the tops of his head - ouch! SMILE!

Handsome young man! I do like the b&w much better than the color versions!
