My girlfriend took me to the beach for lunch. Seagulls I think can smell food a mile away. These two marched right up and started asking for some. I figured it would be something fun for day 3.

At this time I'm only using Photoshop Essentials 5.0 - looking to go to CS3 - anyone who has it please let me know how it is. It seems like a lot of people use the Channel Mixer for their B&W conversion.

Excellent capture. Good B&W tones, and good clarity.

What a fun emotive, and very well done at that. This looks like it maybe could stand for even a touch more contrast. I really like it.

ha this is a great capture! It makes you wonder what they really are saying. The details in the white areas of the bird really show up very well.

LOL! How fun! I love seeing shots like this on DPC because all too often people tend to forget that pictures can be fun. Pretty good conversion but you can probably bring the whites up a bit if you want. Great timing, great shot.

How wonderful. Human emotions always come to mind when I see birds doing this. Great contrast and juxtaposition.

What an awesome photo! It is perfect shown in black and white. Those white gulls really pop. I can almost hear them fussing at you to share your lunch with them. It draws you in to feel like you are there!

This is cute!! Really great shot. B&W seems a bit flat, not too bad though.

You have enough of a range of tone here to distinguish grains of sand in the foreground, which is really good. Great capture of the birds and good variety in the head poses - also, very nicely framed shot.

I don't know alot about post processing as you can tell by looking at my photos so can't help you there. But I will say is that I like this.
