Was there any softening done on the background? It almost looks like heat distortion. It looks very natural (may be natural) and works very well!! Nice action shot.

So did he get the goal/shot? It's like he just got hit, but wants to know if it was all in vain or not. Love it! Nice job.

Great capture with the ball in the frame. Just my opinion, of course, but I would prefer either a tighter crop on the player on the ground or a looser crop that included the heads of the players in the background.

It's certainly not boring! You captured a great moment: ball in mid-air. I love these sports stop-action photos! Your contrast and focus is absolutely perfect! For such motion. That is amazing. Sports Illustrated "stuff" :)
