A hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirche - not the one I stayed in, but where some of my coworkers stayed. Lovely place.

Looks like a nice place to stay. Wonderful curves and lines leading you through the whole image. I love your B&W conversion.

The range in tones in this photo is stand out great! I also love the play of shapes in how you composed your shot. The sweep and curves of the walkway is what draws the eye in and invites us to wander the curved path to the doorway and discover what lies beyond. While the barrel looks out of place in that location it adds visual interest with it's curved shape and the textures.

i like this one. i like the curves of the ramp. the floor looks so smooth and you also managed to get good detail and lighting on the barrel which looks like it might be in a darker part of the pic.

Great image, the barrel doesn't seem to fit, and then it just does - SMILE!

Great conversion.

Actully don't care for the blown out doorway, other than that this is a very slick image. The barrel adds a point of interest that sits well with the arhitectural details dominating the rest of the shot. Good work.

Hi Deb. I love the range of tones in this image. You take it from blown out light at the doorway to deep, dark black in the cabinet. The sweep of the low walls, of course, make this image. Nicely done.

deb ... you certainly find some interesting things .. that barrel looks so out'v place in this uncluttered hotel and yet to me it totally makes this image .. love this photograph ... it works amazingly well in b&w .. the fantastic curve of the wall and the carved fence type thing ..(cant think at the moment wot its called!!) .. love the contrasts and the shine on the tiles on the floor ..

I can't help but wonder why there is an old barrel in the middle of this lovely hotel? It's an interesting juxtaposition but I'm more impressed by the flowing lines and lighting in the right half.

I bet you stayed in a way more upmarket place!!! After the symettry of day two some lovely assymetry. Not a big fan of borders but this one works well.

Not sure what it is but the item obscurring a part of the flat screen tv is a bit distracting and just as an aside it felt a bit off that it was so (apparently) bright outside yet the lights on the right appear to be on
(my goodness I am paying wayyyyy too much attention to these pics)

Great lines(curves), again a very nice processing job. Nice perspective, the barrel fits perfectly in the curved section. The subtle lighting here works well.

I love that curving bannister and the unanswered question, what is a barrel doing in such a sophisticated scene.

the line of the bannister and the spot of light on the barrel are really pretty awesome together. great coloring and sharpness, too!

Mmmmm... what lovely perspective, what pleasing lines. There's so much to admire here, including the leading lines, the deep shadows at left out of which pops the slightly incongruous barrel, the bright highlights upper centre, and the nice tonal range. Beauty.
