I'm not sure about that mess of leaves in the corner. I tried an alternate crop but I'm not sure if that's an improvement or not.

Edited to add Ursula's crop which I like better than either of my own (she makes it look so easy!)

The sepia tone is a wonderful here for the warm tones project the feel of a warm early morning as one takes a walk through the park and spies this flower. The sepia tone along with the composition & lighting makes me think of the first blush of early morning light as it illuminates this flower. Lighting and tones are fabulous and the level of detail seen in the textured veins of the petals & the 'fur' on the stem is astounding.

What an awesome shot. I love how the fuzz on the plant really lights up from the backlighting. Nice job!

The browns are beautiful, and observed translucence w/backlight excellent.

love this for the tones, but mostly because it seems so alive despite the harsh world surrounding it...
you should keep Ursula around methinks...:)

The song - Morning Has Broken started playing in my head when I opened this - WOW - it really is so very lovely.

I agree with Ursula's crop, and like the mess of leaves. DPC tends to make people gravitate to the ubersimple, which loses a lot in translation sometimes. LOVE the bokeh. Amazing stuff, that, and really, really serves to show off the subject well. In glancing at the thumbs, I thought this may have been Ursula's to start with. Oh, and I think I need that lens.

I love the detail but I think the one without the leaves brings the attention back to the detail in the flower.

"Wow" This is so so beautiful, and you should be so proud to have taken this wonderful image.
The light is just so magical and so perfect in everyway, as it really brings a delocate touch to th flower. Love the textures as well,....
I really love it and adding it as a favorite.

Like the tones in this one. Brownish without being sepia. Sort of weird artifacts/noise looking stuff in the background? Not sure what is going on there, bu totherwise this is a nice looking shot. Reminds me of a flower taking in a sunrise in Hell for some reason (I need to see a shrink).

I like the mess. Your bokeh almost looks like smoke, making it feel more delicate. Nice.
