Although a depiction of outdoors, it has, for me, a peculiar feeling of being inside. Perhaps that is the distorted perspective. It certainly makes me feel as if I am in a glass cage viewing some sort of theatre. |

Hmm. I guess I'm in the minority. I much prefer the other version. I think the reason the other version isn't getting it's fair due is because of the size restrictions at DPC. I'd love to see that one printed huge. This one is ok and certainly focuses more on the people. However, if that was your intent you should have shot it landscape rather than going with a patchwork crop.
Btw, I do love the b/w and the distortions! |

my first reaction: wow, what difference it makes the way you crop a picture. i think i like this version more. the other version is definitely spectacular because of how magnificent that church looks. but i like this version with this man being the center of the picture more. it has a warmer, more humane touch. makes me to come up with a story about this man. i like it.
i agree that a tighter crop, taking couple more inches off from the top might actually enhance this effect even more. |

hell yeah! this will score at least a full point lower than your original, maybe two!
but I love it.
(I might have cropped off another inch, though... oh, I am bad...) |
