Mixed K2 team in action at the State Kayak Marathon Championships. Shot taken from down near water level, with polarizing filter to reduce glare (which required use of ISO800 to be able to maintain relatively fast shutter speed)

Converted from RAW and taken to PS7. Minor adjustments made to saturation and brightness/contrast. Resized, added border, USM.

I love the goofy but intimate way he's looking at you! And I like the up-close composition. the background paddler is distracting, though. I would have probably given this a 5, but only because I think sports shots are boring... which is why I didn't vote.

amazing you don't have more noise at iso800. well done! and that Pentax must be a great camera.

Nice capture. Almost the same amount of water displaces by their paddles top and bottom. Nice colors. The guy in the back looks awfully proud of himself!

The guy in the front looks like he's hard at work, but David Hasselhoff's cheesy grin straight into the camera takes away from the shot. :) The color, the water splashes, , the tight crop, and the parallel lines of the oars are all good.

i think this shot would improve with a little more contrast as it seems a little washed out. Almost misty on my monitor other than that a really good shot 7
