Previously unprocessed image from last year. I like how something is going on, but it's all pretty minimal.

Processing:

cropped
gradient map conversion
shadows/highlights
noise ninja
layer for stack, then levels
layer for smoke, then curves
curves on remainder (sky)
resize
save for web

No sharpening (immediate halos with even minimal sharpening)

Works well as a stark, industrial photo.

The simplicity works well here and I like the way it is to one side and not centered.....

I love the way the sun seems to be shining on it.. the way the two towers are together in the shot is great.. nice and minimalistic

Nice conversion, good composition. The smoke stack almost looks 3D to me. Nice job.

This is a great composition. Strong lines and interesting to look at. The smoke could be a little more contrasted against the sky, no? Regardless, wonderful shot.

I like it.
the minimal rule of thirds is very effective.
nice strong lines leading up.
it's a shame the smoke isn't more prominent.
maybe some dodging on it?
