Okay, this is really weird, but I think I know that guy in the foreground! He looks just like a friend of mine who used to be in the Navy.
You did a great job with motion capture here, and the composition is great, especially for a candid like this. I would have expected this one to crack 6. The light pole adds a cool almost post-modern presence to it. |

What I love about this version is the closer-up feel you get to the runners. And looking up at them makes them look strong and determined. There's nothing at all distracting in the photo -- just the team of runners -- and a couple of points of interest. As I always think about your photos that end up lower than a kick-butt score -- it looks to me like one that should have been in the mid-6's!

I really like the low perspective and how you caught just one runner seemingly off on his own. A very good marathon picture. Congrats on a wonderful shot. |

Excellent shot Deb. I can't believe the score on this. I think this is better than a few on the front page. The angle and the lighting are great. |

I like the effect, although the shadow at the base is a little distracting because it's not strait. I love black and white. |

Low angle I like, B&W I LIke, different framing to get that darn pole out of the background is the only thing I can fault with it. |

I think this one would have been better with focus on the foreground runner (and shallower DoF). |

I like that you got a low angle on this. It adds to the impact. |
