Taken in White Sands, NM. This was in the days before I knew anything about PS, so I overexposed it by two stops to pop the whites. (The original is in b&w.)

I like the long shadows in this image that seem to really pull you int an already fantastic image. I find the textures in the sand interesting and a vital component to this outstanding shot.

I like how you popped the whites by use of overexposure for it really compliments the textures & shapes in the sand as well as the shadowplay of the plant that cuts through those 'sand lines' But while the photo does wonders with calling our attention to those details it is less than complementary to the sky which looks a bit too washed/blown out (I don't know what this looks like in color but I suspect it might look really great but in the B&W the lighter tones in the sky look blown out).

The sand, the plants and their shadows are amazing. The sky is obviously a little blown, which is a shame because the rest is outstanding.

High Key done right! Wonderful shot. I need to do a High Key myself. Wonderful contrast and terrific placement of subjects.

It looks like arid acupuncture.. sort of. Looks nice the way it is, IMHO. Sometimes over-ripe colours are not the be all and end all.

I LOVE your White Sands photos! I always love white on white photos, but this one is the best of the best with the shadows and angles and points of interest. Congratulations! I'd be awed if I saw this in my Outdoor Photographer magazine!

i like the bush in the centre, but i think the whole top left could be cropped out and it would be just as good.
just my opinion :-)

Considering the abuse your sensor took to get this image (+2 stops) it came out great! I love the textures of the sand and the way the clump of desert grass plays with the waves. It is just a little unfortunate that the horizon on the left gets lost against the sky due to the blown-out-ness.
