 I've been shooting all of my son's games lately. Figured I'd throw a photo on from one of them. I was going to use this in the Sports III challenge but figured the background was too distracting.

Well done. I love the position of each boy and the dust as he slides into the base.

cool action shot. I don't really like the high key very much here, I think this could use a bit less contrast but I love the kicked up dust and facial expression

far out and excellent .. love the movement going on and the way you've caught the puff of sand or wotever it is .. i love how in the background there are ppl running and playing as well ..
ha.. just read deb's comment after writing this .. this photograph will obviously be a crowd pleaser!! .. :)

What a great one with the dust kicking up! Was he safe???? Looks iffy :) I can't believe this wouldn't have done well in the sports challenge -- but I'm like you -- I always assume that any picky little thing will get picked on. I know I would have rated it very high!

While it may have been distracting for DPC voters, the background suits this very well in my opinion. You have the very focused action of the play - which is a great capture on it's own - then the background of another game of sorts going on. The composition as a whole works very well in my opinion.
