It's not missing a thing roz. Be happy with it, enjoy it, and leave it alone lol. Love the vanishing trees. |

i really like the feel of this - the mist adds suspense and mystery to this scene. i like how the path moves gently off to the right third - well done |

I thought about it a bit, I'm thinking an even lower perspective - if you were down on your belly in exactly the same spot I think it may have the BLING you are seeking?
Did you use a tripod? I'm thinking the ground in front looks a tad dizzy. |

I can never capture mist as well as this. I can feel the dampness of the air just looking at it. It gives the shot quite a harsh feel (especially in terms of the sky) but for me it really works. Maybe a slight crop on the right to remove the small branches and therefore make the mist shrouded tree stand out even more? |

Love it, Roz! especially the tree in the fog with the branches reaching skywards like two arms. It has an almost mystical feminine form. Fantastic!!! |

Well. . . I LOVE photos like this, and I don't think it's missing anything. It's beautiful. Ethereal. And I love it. I love the sky too, and don't think its burned out.

you said: this image is missing something ..
like its a beautiful scene .. the composition is ok ... black & white seems to work .. but it just doesnt do it for me ... one of the things i do like that other ppl probably wont is the 'burnt out' sky ...
suggestions welcome!!!!!!!!
I think the burnt sky is the result of the mist...or is the mist. Anyone who has seen morning mist should appreciate that. I like the grey scale from bottom to top on both sides of the photo.
I am familiar with scenes like this from the mountains of Pennsylvania - on the old lumber trails in the hills behind my parents house. The mist (fog as we call it) "burns off" by late morning and it's always fun to watch - especially when fishing. I love this photo
