 Handheld, single snap, during swim competition. Not shot specifically for this challenge, but thought it an interesting 'silky-smooth' capture.
Edit ACDSee 9: rotate and crop
Tweak luminance and saturation
Remove noise - despeckle

Greetings from the critique club!

Relatively good focus and good exposure. Composition is okay. The swimmer creates a "line" that takes the eye across the frame. The image is a bit "flat" because of the refraction of the water. A higher shooting position would help with this perhaps.

Colors are pleasing and well saturated without going overboard.

The challenge:

Interesting and unique choice of topic for this challenge. When a swimmer has a good stroke it is certainly smooth though perhaps not silky in my opinion. In any event it definitely meets the challenge criteria.
