hey, it worked for Lewis Carroll! what interests me about this photo is that the arms make her look posed but the look backward seems so very unposed, almost surprised, or at least taken with something. |

Little girls are pure joy to photograph.
I like the attention her eyes bring here, looking out of frame, framed by the window behind her.
Good thing you aren't a 40-yr old dude - that really would be creepy!
;)
I am always at odds shooting kids candid, especially young girls, and have had the Poway Sheriffs called out before, and they are sorta' getting to know me , so it is making it a little easier, but still get the feeling like I'm doing something wrong when I aim my camera.
Women DO have an advantage with a camera.
A woman can aim a camera at a stranger, man, woman or child and that person feels flattered.
A man aims a camera at a stranger, man, woman and especially children, and we get the pervert looks/questions.
Sigh |

I like your comments about the inequality of who can take shots of little girls ... does that make up for us getting much lower salaries for the rest of our lives?! LOL Didn't think so.
She is a very pretty little gal and I really like the setting you captured her in. Maybe playing ring around the rosie? Very nice stop action. |

Shannon, I am the SAME WAY!!! I love taking pictures of pretty little girls -- and many times I have had the same thought. In fact, one time I was at the zoo with a guy friend, and I was taking candids of this little girl -- no problem. But when my friend tried -- the mom got all protective and told him "no!".
This one is fabulous!!! You are certainly good at your niche :)

Oh you made me laugh SO hard at your own comments to this photo. I have to agree with you, especially such a beautiful girl like this one. I love her attention being drawn away, but holding on to the pole. Very interesting. I love this. |
