This nice man allowed me to take his photo whilst flying his Kite at a local festival! I particularly like the dark moody clouds in the sky behind.

I am surprised that this photo did not get a higher rating. It is a truely candid shot and well presented. I gave you an 8 and only then because there was many really great shots in this challenge.

I like how the cloud edge parallels your subject's profile...but then I like things like that!

It's my feeling that it would be much more interesting to back off a bit and try to get the kite in.

I wish I could get that depth

Nice Shot.

That better be a big kite if he has to wear a glove. I like the shot but I think it would have been more dramatic to show alittle more clouds????

A kite would have doubled your score.

OK, I don't know, but given the noise I guess it's been cropped quite a bit which might be a shame. I would have like the man more in the left bottom corner so that we can see the sky he's looking at (OK, I don't expect the kite :-). Otherwise, good shot and good background. Good luck. =6. marcvg

Nice job, I love the lighting and the setup.

The gesture of the guy is stupendous. Love the lighting on his face. Love how the whole kite experience is symbolized by the thread. And that beautiful Ruysdael landscape in the back isn't hurting any, either. 10 Journey

My definition of candid is the subject doesnt know your taking the picture. This looks posed. other wise this possibly would have looked better not so tight to the subject.

mood captured - if this wind just stays steady...
sincerity of expressions - great

great shot

Fantastic shot... Lighting and composition are superb. Even though I think the challenge element is weak, the shot itself is beyond criticism. The concentration on the chaps face made me smile – just needs a little tug there, ah, that’s got it :o) I really like this one and I hope it does well (10) good luckâ€Â¦

He's really serious about that kite. Nice job. Score 6 Justine

Interesting subject. Neat. Only critic would be that it seems a bit out of focus or maybe grainy. Still nice job.
