Hmmm. Good shot. but an arachnid by definition is:
any wingless, carnivorous arthropod of the class Arachnida, including spiders, scorpions, mites, ticks, and daddy-longlegs, having a body divided into two parts, the cephalothorax and the abdomen, and having eight appendages and no antennae.

I may be wrong but, I think an arachnid is a spider and this appears to be a bee of some sort. Very nice photo though. As far as the challenge I know everything has a shape but, at least for me I was looking for more of traditional geometric shapes. Still the photo is nice. The lighting, color, focus, and crop are all good and I can't truly say its DNMC so...6

It's not an arachnid! It's all insect.

Beautiful shot, though, so I guess I'll forgive the title ;)
