 Long exposure of the remains of a doorway/archway at the Norwich Cathedral. The light was from a spotlight behind it and aimed away from it (onto another door). You can see the wall of the Cathedral through the opening. I knew the story of this once, but I've forgotten it by now.

Raw processing, all "auto" as shot except exposure (which it tried to bring up 3.5+ which ruined the image) + crop
Gradient map conversion with selective color underneath

Light sharpening

Looks like something out of a fantasy. I wouldn't have guessed it was a long exposure - very nicely handled.

BEAUTIFUL! I just love the sparkly dreamy tones in the wall above the arch. It gives the entrance a magical mystical look.

I know an interesting fact about the catherdral...it's foundations are bales of wool!!!!
at least that is what I was told when I was younger.
I hope it's true :-)

anyway, good capture.
you are showing off the textures of the ancient walls very nicely.

far out result with your set up for the photograph and your processing rob .. this is extremely excellent .. love the tones without much contrast .. the view thru the archway looks just about copied and pasted in or cloned .. but its real !!.. love it ..
