Taken at a cemetary just South of downtown Columbus. The only statue of Jesus that I could find. Life size and He was easily 20 feet in the air.

Taken with my 70-300mm. Post Process - tonemapped from a RAW image in Photomatix, levels, selective color, NI on sky a couple of times, High Pass sharpen on Jesus, decent amount of burning and a bit of dodging on His face, resize USM and border.

I was very happy to see this challenge come up. I have been wanting to enter more images that reflect my faith. ANd I think in this challenge I will actually dodge the low ball voters who hate images of faith. In this challenge that is the subject.

Jesus Christ paid the debt for my sins and yours. I have accepted Him as my Lord and Saviour. I believe that this is the only way to heaven and to the Father. Praise Him!

I like this image on so many levels. Certainly, it is not outside of my comfort zone, but I felt compelled to comment on it anyway. I don't get a chance to see many images on dpc anymore, and miss many good ones, such as this.

Personally, I find the image to project a lot of symbolism to me, though perhaps that was not intentional - the image of Christ who gave all for each and every one of us, against the wide, open sky, which to me represents the vast omnipotence of an awesome God.

A well-done image that appeals to me in a deeply personal way.

I also appreciate the final four sentences in your Photographer's Comments.

I think this is a very powerful and moving image. I think even to non-christians, this image would be powerful.

I think the angle of the cross gives it more of a dramatic effect and leads your eye right to the crown of thorns.

I actually enjoy cemetary memorials, and cemetaries in general. This is appealing to me for that reason. I like the unusual perspective given in this image, which makes it unique for a subject that is photographed often. But in general, it's not particularly outstanding, or compelling for any more dynamic reason. Competent and well thought-out.

Good angle on shot and the perspective of looking up to Jesus.
