i dunno, to me there is too much dead spaces. The back of the chair's blackness is mirrored by the fireplace's blackness too. Leaving all blackness but not enough lightness to balance it. maybe a touch of light on the mantle?

It works, in my opinion. Very nice with the low key/low light effect.

It is beautiful. The rich dark sepia tones look so pretty with that light shining down on the scene. It draws you in and makes you think its more than just a picture of a chair -- like there's more to the story of that scene. I really like it.

I had the same thought that sherpet expressed concerning the composition. I do like the use of light though.

I like the tobes and the light here but mabe the composition would have been better if you took a more side angle view by about 15%to 20% swing.....

Ummm. I like the idea of it. Maybe back up a bit so the chair isn't so "crowded" in the shot. I like the low key approach as well.
