Started on plan a, wound up on plan d doing a macro study of some dry ice in water.

After 3 hours of shooting, checking, relighting, different angles, shooting again, checking, and going through the process over and over again.

After a Gawd load of images, not one I liked and wound up erasing, I finally got one image. One measly little spark of possibilities.

Used a 300w lamp studio lamp to get the look. Used a strobe to get some edges.

PS= Levels, curves, Crop, USM to sharpen, USM to contrast, color correct, Save, reduce

sorry, but as a photographer your job is to convince me.

photographically, this is a nice picture. However, I am not convinced that this is science.

This is what they call an "abstract" for those that can't tell, or want to know.

I really don't have any idea what is going on here. Not that that matters to me! I love a good abstract. I imagine you are getting some crappy scores from all of those abstract haters out there, and I'm sorry about that. I'll counteract them a little. :)

Exposure can be better and it needs to be sharper. I can't tell what this is.

very cool, I like it. I really like abstract photography, but I think its often very underrated here at DPC. Kudo's for doing something different than the norm!

Is this an ice cube with burning alcohol? Really difficult to tell. Possibly adjusting your white balance would improve this. I think using a more symmetrical cube would look very cool.

I can only imagine how difficult this must have been to set up. I'd be interested to knew exactly what it is. Unfortunately, the focus seems a bit off, enough so that the subject is not easily recognizable.

If you are not going for a brown, I apologize and know that I'm always here to help..

If you are going for a brown, I am going to pray hard this week that you trip over your shoelaces every time you try to walk.

very difficult to see what's going on here, with the blur. a higher shutter speed and more light may have fixed this. good idea though

Whassis? Seems like something from a star trek episode. :-)

Looks like it was tough to photograph whatever it was.
