Well...a controversial challenge, indeed! I have a rather complicated belief system in that I believe in God and in Jesus, but I believe Jesus was sent as a messenger - Just as Buddha, Krishna, and many others. Also, I can't believe in God as male only figure. To me, God is a divine energy made up of both masculine and feminine characteristics. Just as there are men and women, sun and moon, fire and water, and this divine energy is found in each and every aspect of nature, from the earth beneath our feet, to the plants, animals, and elements which comprise life as we know it.
In this photo I wanted to demonstrate the female energy - the Mother Goddess looking down upon the earth, bathed in moonlight - and also showcase the divinity found in each of us. |

Hi Jacqueline, I just wanted to comment on your comments under the photo. I believe the same as you. I just read the book "The Power of Now" and it really gave me some things to think about.
The word God has been misused over the centuries so that when it is used a lot of people form a physical picture or biased opinion in there mind and don't see that God is the stillness around us all. The energy of the universe. God has no form. God is not a person. We are all connected through God which is the energy of life.
I used to get irritated when I heard people use the word God and Jesus. Because I had formed my own picture of what I thought others thought of God. Not so much anymore. If that makes sense.
Anyway Good picture. Nice lighting. |

The cool higlights (and I mean color wise not "hip") are kinda strange in relation to the warm tones of her skin and the hair on her left side. It makes for an unblanced composition in my opinion. Since I'm Christian I have no idea what the moon goddess is supposed to portrait, but her pose suggests serenity and the colors suggest tension..kinda makes me confused.

sorry, but as a photographer your job is to convince me.
photographically, this is a nice picture. However, I am not convinced that this is religious. |

The cloth makes a very interesting and compelling line. Well lit. |
