Sweet image...a little more lighting on the front and this image could be framed. Sorry to comment so late.

I think part of why people are thinking vertical is the centered composition; for me, moving the subject here right (so that the lace is still on the left trailing into the center) might work just as well as a vertical crop. Lighting is really nice, and the subtlety here is perfect. Excellent shot. |

I agree a vertical format would be more pleasing, as long as you didn't clip the tie on the left. It all seems a bit soft focus. I like the well worn shoes that imply experience. I like the flashlight back-lighting, but think a bit of brightening in front would help. |

I like the light behind them but think that maybe a portrait crop would have faired you better but that's just an opinion. |
