After my personal success with both the Shapes III challenge, and the outtakes, Glasses and Candlesticks, I wanted to try some more shots with similar subjects. I knew that I wanted to use the same subjects for this challenge as soon as I saw it available. But I didn't want people to think I was copying my other entries exactly and I figured this challenge would need more than just a simple still life shot of a single object, without any supporting elements. I actually got this idea while shopping for new glasses to use. After coming up with the idea, I decided to just buy the grapes and drink instead of new glasses, so these are the same glasses as before. The leaves are actually fresh mint leaves that I stuck in with the grapes to add to the photo.
For processing of this image, I used ACR to convert the raw file, removal of some dust spots and other tiny nuisances, sharpened, two curves adjustments, one for everything but the grapes, and one for just the grapes themselves. Then just resize, shapen once again, and add the border and save for web. That's it. |

This is awesome! A unique and very creative take on the wine glass theme! Congratulations on such an amazing photo.

Well executed, but uninspiring, IMHO - good luck! |

While this is well lit and a technical success, it does little for me emotionally or creatively so leaves me thinking 'why?'. Also, I find myself noticing imperfections due to the lack of distraction, such as the slightly skewed horizontals. In summing up, it's a clean packshot but nothing more. |

Not generally a fan of the ubiquitous wine glass shots, but this one is well done and more creative than most. |

Technically nice, but uninspiring subject. Not much new you can do with wine glasses and grapes, but what you've done you've done nicely. |
