Too processed - it seems you started with a very blurry, low contrast image & sharpened it 'till it didn't look any better!

Sorry, I'm sure you're getting lots of those comments. Next time, try a faster shutter speed & higher ISO & stop down as much as you can without losing too much light. The faster shutter speed will reduce the effects of camera shake (rule of thumb is to use a speed one step higher than focal length - IOW, if you are using a 100mm lens, use a minimum of 120 shutter speed, 200mm lens use a 250 shutter speed); You'll need the higher ISO to keep the image from being too dark when you stop down (decrease the aperture size like from an f/2.8 to a f/8 - most lenses perform best between f/5.6 & f/11). You'll want the smaller aperture size because it will increase the amount of area in focus relative to the distance from your camera.

If you already know all this, then I'm probably sounding like a jerk now. I just didn't want to leave a negative comment without offering advice...

Nice capture of the two hoverflies. Wish there was some more detail in the shot. I do like the capture of the moment. Nice timing there. Looks like some high pass sharpen was used? created the halo around the bug on the left.

A nice effort with the two bee's but I see a lot of halo issues that really distract.

I have to say this was an idea that I had but failed lamentably to pull off...So I have to say great concept and far better executed than I ever got near to. If the focus on the right hand bee could have been a bit sharper I would have rated this as a possible ribbon winner, but even as it is very good capture 7

Lacks focus and strange processing.

Bugs are just a little too OOF for me.
