Wow. My first entry. Well, my first thoughts on "Why" were of something abandoned - but that wasn't quite the spirit of this particular "Why". Didn't want to take yet another picture of the Stata Center. So I found a completely ugly local building. I'm not sure who thought peach green purple and brick went together, but it made for a colorful shot. Hope some folks enjoy it.

For the record - I really liked the colorful title and figured you were referring to the ugliness. The composition is pretty good, maybe a little tilty for dpc. I gave this a 6 during the challenge. The only thing you might want to watch for, if you haven't already fixed it, is how you save your image. I see some compression jaggies in this. Check the tutorial on this site if you're not sure how.

By the way, all three of your entries so far were ones that struck me as interesting during the challenge. Will be keeping an eye out for your future entries ;-)

You're correct BeeCee. When I submitted my first photo I didn't realize the title I gave it would be so important in the challenge. And "Why" turned into voting on the title almost more than the photo. I don't mind my score, just disappointed in the position overall - more proof a clever title might have helped a bit.

As for the brick, it did look nice in composing the image. Although clipping it might have made the rest look uglier (the point of my challenge entry).

The building colors do look a bit worse in person though. :)

This is a pretty good photo, but for this challenge your "why" reasons didn't jump out at the rest of us. Possibly a tighter crop on the brick/purple/green area to left would have brought this to us more strongly?
Remember, here folks have a lot to vote on, so each shot has to grab the viewer instantly. Looking forward to seeing future entries! :D

Why the title? Are you trying to say that you do not like the building? Not a bad photo, but I wish the brick on the left side was cropped off. Personally I like the building.

I am not a good photographer, I do not claim to be better than anyone, any criticism is meant to be constructive criticism......

Nice picture but I am asking 'why is this in this challenge?'
