What kind of a hare brain gives a photo like this a 1, 2, 3, or 4?? 19 hare brains, apparently!! Closely followed by 44 hare brain applicants who gave you a 5.

Jeesh Roz - don't let this get you down. Awesome photo - beautifully different and interesting. Very intriguing. Stupid Voters.

Roz - this should have finished MUCH higher than it did - I thought this was an excellent image...

Roz, this is awesome. I love the grain. It gives it such an old-timey look and feel. You are so incredibly artistic with your eye and processing!

nice job roz - really nice job with the b/w conversion. the timing of the shot to see his face in the reflection was so well done. gave it an 8 during voting.

Nice photo Roz, I like the border you used. I like how the focus is on the reflection. To me the grain works here.

Nice concept. Like the gritty feel, although it's on the edge of adding too much noise. Not sure the 'challenge' will appreciate it. though

Interesting shot. A bit unsettling, actually. It's usually not a good idea to place a person in a position where you cannot see where they are looking or going. The story surrounding it (Gloria Jean's coffees) doesn't answer the question, and actually poses more of a problem since he doesn't look like a typical coffee house customer.

Otherwise, the composition and texture are very compelling.

Actually, I think I like the grain in this, and the bw works well too, but the crop feels really tight to me -- maybe if there was less on the right, the left side wouldn't feel quite so tight.

Great catch of the reflection. I like the graininess here. Gives me the feeling of passing time.

This is a cool shot. I love the processing choices you made here. I the relm of candids I prefer to see some sort of expression which isn't present here. Nice shot otherwise.

Very much like this - the mystery of the part of the face and the grain work for me. Very nicely composed.

I'm not liking the grain although I do like the photo. I am wondering why you added the grain.....my first thought is that you added it to cover up flaws and poor technicals in the photo. But that is my cynical side showing. Maybe you like the grain and feel it adds to the grittiness of a street shot, I don't know. But normally I don't like grain and this is no exception. It has to be really well done for me to like it. I would love to see this as a clear image, I know I would score that higher. So I will give this a 5.

I love the fact we only see the face in the reflection and that the B&W and grain just adds another layer of mystery and disassociation

Very good image
