Greetings from the CC. Well what you got right with your shot is the subject. It is an interesting and somewhat obscure animal. However, you would of done well to use red eye in it to reduce the glare in its eye. Also the composition IMO is a bit lacking... in that you have far too much empty space around this little image, keep in mind when you are composing or post editing the 1/3 2/3 rule, makes for a more interesting shot. Try cropping this shot significantly (if camera is high enough resolution to allow it) Crop as much as can and try to get the ermine into the lower left corner of the shot. |

I dont know how easy it would have been but shots of animals tend to look better when shot at their eye level, try and get as close to the ground as you can when shooting an animal like this. |

The glare in his eye is very distracting in my opinion. |

This shot seems to have some image quality problems, as such all the detail is muddled here. |

With the december rules you could have fixed his eye. A tighter crop would also be nice. Cute critter...ermine? Mink? |
