Challenge: Action Shot (Advanced Editing I*)
Camera: Olympus E-10
Location: My kitchen table
Date: Jan 2, 2004
Aperture: f8
ISO: 80
Shutter: 1/15
Date Uploaded: Jan 2, 2004

Timing is everything! Took me about 50 tries to get this shot. Lit with two tugnsten desklamps. Used a cable release and manual focussing, which gives about 100 ms of delay. Tipped over end domino at same time as pressing release, then adjusted number of dominos to get the timing right. I really wanted this last domino clean and about to be hit. Used the clone tool to hide dust in background, ran through NeatImage, which removes noise and slightly sharpens.

I was right, top 10 shot, and well deserved. :)

Nice shot. you serve your\'e Canon Eos 10D counterparts well with this crafty, expertly done studio action shot. It reminds me of a great shot with all different colored dominoes. anyway - great shot

I get it! I had to come back and look at this one again. Not bad! Contrasts and lighting are nice. Black background is excellent. To work better I think the domino's falling into the one standing should have been more uniform. 8.

I think the picture would look better in black and white

An interesting take on the theme, and great timinmg on the falling dominoes. I like the slow shutter for blur.

I think this is a good action shot, and from browsing through the other shots, one of the best I've seen. I like the slow shutter speed and the color is good. I only wish the surroundings were more black. Overall great shot though. ~Heather~

Excellent action shot. I'll have to learn how to do that someday.

I like this shot - nicely composed and perfectly times. I think the white boarder detracts - yellow may have been a better choice.
