The photograph is gritty, but so is the subject matter. For this to have gotten a 4.3 average is an absolute disgrace. I need no further evidence to illustrate how narrow minded some of the voters here are.

Gutsy and emotive. A very powerful image and story. Though title-driven to a certain extent, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Vastly underrated. |

Powerful photo. So different that it's hard to peg at first, then the emotion hits you. |

Gritty and (I don't usually say this) a little shitty.
In other words it's powerful in a negative way. Do I hate it? no. Do I love it? I really don't think it's about the Black and White of it...
only thing i would do differently is to see if I could overpower the noise with some luminance noise rather than chrominance noise. Would shift the focus a bit from the technical to the content.
I wonder if anyone else noticed the big jug of orange tang sitting off to his left... The accompaniment of methadone where I come from.
I doubt that this pic would have the same impact without the title. |

Gritty and real. Gives a sense of voyeurism. Excellent idea, I love it. |

Well, you got the kiss of death from the out of the ball park voters like Posthumous. What more could you want? :-) Keep up the good work! |

What a gloriously ugly, utterly effective abstract messterpiece. 10 |

Title is well chosen and enhances. But even without the title, I like the evocative story-telling aspect of your photo and the noise. Works very well. 9. |

compelling scenario & storytelling - the tech in me finds the lens flare & ghosting unappealing as it doesn't do justice to the big picture here. I would have tried to get much higher & shoot down more to avoid those issues AND the stumbling framework of furniture (the chair doesn't bother so much as the blurry diagonal in the foreground. Good luck! << 7 >> |

A very sad image. Well done, imo. |

I`m sorry but this image is way too fuzzy. Out of focus, and poor lighting. I cannot score on this image. |
