 I'm moving into a new classroom next year, so I spent a good portion of my day cleaning out one of the closets in my new room. There was years worth of stuff that had to go! I came across two typewriters, and I thought it would be something different to shoot for ordinary objects (even though they're not as ordinary anymore!) Anyway, I just sat it on the corner of a table (was the only flat spot I could find besides the floor), tried to angle it towards the light, and took a few shots with my p&s that I carry everywhere with me. A bit of (rather untidy) PS work to get rid of some rust and give it a sepia feel, and voila.

But, I'm still a few days behind.

Great image.

I've still got an old typewriter sitting around too, but I've never thought to take pics of it because I didn't think it was old enough. Guess I'll have to give it a try one of these days.

Great shot. Keep that typewriter ... they're going to be expensive antiques very very soon. Nice shot, nice subject ... really works very well.

Melanie- This is amazing! I love the angle and sepia tones. What a great find!! When are you finished with school for the summer? I am an elementary LifeStrides teacher, Our last day was May 25th. That's why I have time to do this 30 day challenge. I do not know how I would be able to this if I were working. You Rock!

Really like this image. Those old typewriters seemed to be a miracle that they worked at all they looked so complex. It is amazing how good we were at mechanical inventions before the electronics of today. Love the sepia and the angle.
