I'll have to give my apologies for this one. After a long day of shooting for this and Splash of Color I only left myself 20 minutes to shower and get ready to leave for an appointment. This was the last shot of about 600 shots last Sunday, and I spent maybe 2 minutes auto-leveling, not cropped and uploading while my wife and friend were telling me we had to leave. This is not as desolate as it looks. About 1/2 mile on either side are major communities, and 1/4 mile behind me, on the other side of a large retirement home, is Interstate 15.
Waldo is on the trail riding a mountain bike towards the left. I at least put him on a thirds intersection, but without sufficient time I should have skipped this challenge. Here is a slightly better picture.

This shot appears very flat without a lot of shadows or midtones. Perhaps a color gradient layer for the sky may have helped add more depth. Very harsh landscape to work with and try to appeal to the voting masses.

The colour is really washed out in this image.

Middle right? Good job of hiding him. Photographically the sky is pretty washed out :(

The textures of the bushes on the hills are perfect for camoflague - good idea. The lighting is a little harsh though... it looks like you were shooting against the sun maybe? It might have been easier to get nicer lighting at a different time of day... but maybe you did this on purpose to help with hiding the waldo. Anyways, neat image. :)

I think I see a person, but I am not sure because of lack of detail in those hills. Is it the one on the path on the left side?

Way overexposed unfortunately and very hazy in the distance. You could probably get away with a white sky if you convert to b&w though. But you're still going to need some Curves adjustment for the haze.

A bleak image; Waldo, lost somewhere in the hills. It's warm now, but night is coming. How will he get home? Will he get home? Interesting choices here to bring a story to the challenge.

Don't see anything I'm 100% sure is Waldo; he's too well-hidden for me. Pic looks a little too bright and sky is very dull.

this could use more contrast, pershaps this wasnt the best angle of the sun to take this shot

I think finding 'the waldo' part is giving the viewer a reasonable chance to find him on their own (hiding in plain sight) reducing him to the size of an ant on a metaphorical mountain doesn't work.
