Well deb, once again, your photo not accepted by the DPC brethren. I do think this should have at least finished in the 5 range. I did give this one a 5 in the challenge because for me there wasn't much pulling me in. I think that once the viewer sees the red, they just kind of stop looking (because of the challenge theme), and are ready to move on. The other thing I have been learning is that the time of day can greatly affect the mood of the photo (i.e. the lighting). But, yeah, the guy was there at the time, so what are you gonna do? I think it was composed well with Waldo being there in the right.

Not well hidden, the red shirt stands out too much. |

The bright red shirt kind of gives Waldo away! |

Exposure's not quite right here and the treetops are suffering for it. Good try though! |

I hate having to do this kind of thing, so seeing the image presented as it is here, with the faded colors blending into one another and no real plays or light or dark, and it makes me feel like I would if I was out there doing it (wishing for more excitement but not finding it, I guess). I might have moved the fence and "Waldo" up a bit, to strengthen the composition, but I'm not sure. |

The red shirt works well here to give some contrast to the shot. |

Was it windy? Seems a bit out of focus/blurred. Waldo is very easy to spot. |
