 I entered another shot of this same lighthouse to the burst of colour challenge, it was more concentrating on the Life Saver than the whole scene as this has interest in the clouds as well as a better view of the lighthouse itself. Plus i couldnt work with selective editing in that challenge to bring the best out of the photo in postwork that i could in the free study.

So here is my entry to the free study - hopefully people wont think this is the same shot (because it isnt - even tho the subject matter is very recogniseable as the same) and mark me down because of it.

Anyway, postwork is nothing too far removed from the usual raw conversion and tweaking in photoshop except i sharpened and Neat Imaged on three separate layers with masks - which isnt something i normally do, but this time i needed the flexibility to get the clouds sky and lighthouse all looking good.

bery nice composition, the redstands out ant the POV is awesome. The streaks of white on the sky adds so much to the picture 9

Hmmm...I know I just read the photographer's comments on this one yesterday, like you were laying on your back and this lighthouse is only 20 feet tall. Anyway, nice picture. Good POV, coloring, detail, and the clouds that look like an aerial view of an ice flow or something.
