I love the deep contrasts here. I think turning the photo blue was a good choice - it's a cold color, and reinforces the fact that it's winter; as seen by the snow on the branch. The only thing I don't really like is the grain. Otherwise; lovely shot! |

Greetings from the Critique Club.
First let me thank you for YOUR critique of my image, a couple of challenges ago.
This is a lovely little shot. There is nice detail and it is well composed.
I would wish for a bit more detail on the eye though, is this a product of the post processing? That is the only thing I see that is detrimental. If we could see it better I feel this shot would have done much better.

Looks underexposed and like the white balance is wrong...

Like the little bird, the little mounds of snow, the overall blue tone. |

I'm not really sure where the interesting point of view comes into this, but the colour makes it a very good shot anyway |

A little noisy. I like the blue cast. Not very original in the POV department, though. |

That little guy looks cold. A bit more light on the bird to make him stand out more. |

your little chickadee is cute, but i'm not seeing how the point of view makes this any more interesting. the background looks a bit grainy, and the dark bottom left corner is a bit of a distraction to the bird. I like the blue tint over the image. There is the strong impression of coldness in this shot, and that is good. I like strong impressions. Focus and clarity are good...just not really seeing an interesting point of view. not the kind I have pictured in my own head anyway. still a nice image though. ~Heather~ |

Nice DOF but I think it's a bit dark and too much noise. Not sure how much this meets the challenge theme. Even with the noise I like this image. |

much as I've tried to see it, I don't feel that this is a unique or interesting point of view. It's a nice photo of a bird, though awfully blue and grainy. Sorry, doesn't do it for me. 3. |

A classic bird shot - the white balance seems off (the white is too blue), but tha'ts just it... it's a bit too "classic." The POV doesn't seem to add to the picture. |

Very convincing winter color tones, The blues and whites bring through the feeling of coldness. The graininess helps a little but I think there is slightly too much in your image. I wish I could see the eye, or at least a glint or something to tell me there is actually an eye there instead of a empty black area. As for the point of view aspect, well there isn't anything unusual or different in the perspective you have chosen. (7) |
