Hello again,

I know about the focus lag. My experience with a Canon EOD300D tells me two things:

A) It focus faster
B) It wouldn't save you on this one (ooppps... I'm going to get rammed here)

I would use single-auto-focus on the hand and then press the focus button and change to manual to lock it there. Works for me.

i wasent expecting this shot as im looking through the viewfinder. my cam has a very poor manual focus so i hav to use auto meaning a slower response time

this is an interesting photograph.....if the bird had been in focus it would have been wonderful....That bird must have been really close to you when you photographed it!

Little sharper and this might have been an excellent shot. Still, looks pretty scary!

This looks like a very tough shot to capture.

Nice capture.. a little dark, but impressive just 'coz this is a really neat shot.

Are you OK?

Nice view point but would have been better to have the hawk in focus I think. Hard shot too I am sure the hawk was not standing still for the shot.

Very good idea, but I'm sorry to say the execution could have been better. Try pre-focusing to a point that you figure is the correct distance in advance, then hold until you have the shot. 7 for effort.

whoah, dangerous position!

not in focus and the "audience" is a distraction. 3

Don't know how much room you had to work with, but I might have tried moving further to the left so as to omit the audience from the photo. You also might have snapped one second to late. The tail feathers seem to be more in focus. Looks like it was a thrilling experience non the less.

The Moth Man!

Cool, fits challenge well. The audience on the left would be better left out, but oh well. You must be a bird trainer.

I love the attentive faces of the crowd, it generates interest in the foreground...

Nice capture!

I know it´s difficult but the eyes of the bird have to be in focus for that shot to be good. Also it seem to be litle underexposed and mayby it would have been better to crop the people out of the pic.

wow, i mean really though, WOW. great jorb, ten for you for risking talons to the face in pursuit of a photo. i guess a flash might've helped, but that's when you really risk being pecked. the crowd watching really adds something. great jorb.
