 My Neighbor's kid did this in exchange for an ice cream cone. Just having fun with an archery idea in an effort to be less serious. Wanted to do something besides a still-life. ;-)
Cropped, auto levels, little red channel saturation, and sharpen.

This would have been more compelling had there been the blur of high speed motion in the arrow, or perhaps a small trail of blood from the kids forehead... heh heh...

Funny Wilhelm Tell reference. I like the title :-) I also like the crop and that the face of the child is not fully seen. The eyes are important but it keeps a good balance so that the focus is not primarily on the kids face but on the apple/arrow. Good contrast of the red apple vs. the green background. -stephan

Very nice photo. The background is busy, so makes this shot more interesting, but it isnt too distracting. That's always a good thing :).
I think to improve the photo you could ask your model to widen the eyes, and raise the eyebrows, to give a more scared look! Failing that, you could just put a normal apple on his head and then REALLY fire an arrow at him. That should get you a more scared looking expression.

totally cool idea. i usually don't go for 'cut off' faces, but it works really well here to show just the eyes (and him looking up is a great touch). while the background isn't really distracting, i think this would have looked good in front of a plain black one, too. and maybe just get all of the arrow in to the right. but these things are nitpicky ... i really like the idea and execution ... you are in my top 5 this week. -- gr8photos (10)

Great shotâ€Â¦ Perhaps – and this is only a small point – had the child feigned fear, it would have improved the content a little. Having said that, the composition, exposure and overall quality are great. (7)

Very fun shot! It's maybe a tad dark at the back of the apple, but it's a huge nit. The expression of the eyes is great! If I had any kind of real complaint, it would be the cropping of the arrow, but still, this is a 10 in my book! Swash
