 Tim and I were shooting some friends of ours today who have just become parents. It was so much fun and they are such a love-filled family. Took some "toes" shots with the the work of SandyP in mind because I thought the parents might like them. Maybe this one turned out good enough for a Free Study entry - we'll see! I don't expect a whopping score but the shot makes me smile. B&W works OK too but I felt the warmth of Mom's expression called for a warmer feel than b&w got me. I love her "out of place" hairs and her worn off nail polish - just how a new Mom should look!

I wish the focus was a little tighter on the feet but I'm OK with it since this shot is really about Mom anyway.

Shot in RAW - RAW conversions. Elements - crop, levels, blur, sharpen, USM, neat image, slective color, radial gradient, burn, minor cloning, and save for web.

This is sadly underrated (and I rated it much higher during voting) - it truly is a warm and wonderful shot of the radiance gracing a new mother. Interestingly enough, it's not just the smile itself, it's how the smile reaches all the way to the eyes - so very genuine.
