 Not much purpose on this one - I happen to be shooting a pair of swans for the Doubletake challenge & all of sudden one of them flew right up to me. I wasn't really prepared, though I do have several shots that I took before this one. I just liked the pose quite a bit. Really wish I had bumped up the shutter speed even faster than I had so that the wing wouldn't have blurred so much. This was shot handheld, btw.

I almost missed the deadline on the Free Study because I forgot the end of the month was coming up this weekend. I rushed through the edit of this & it really shows - I almost yanked it, but I already yanked 2 other challenge entries (and missed a third) this past week & I had to draw the line somewhere!!!

Post included several adjustment layers of selective color, levels, hue & sat + some high-pass filter overlay layers & some selective box blur. I was trying to get rid of the cyan & magenta discoloring in the feathers when I noticed it was 3 minutes before the deadline... Oh, there was zero cropping on this one except for that which occurred by adding the border!

Very pretty. One think to nit pick is that towards the bottom of its neck, the colors just switch. 7

I like the composition of this shot but am not entirely sure I like the blue hue on the normally pure white bird. I can understand that the reflections may have caused it but some adjustments might bring it back a bit.

It's as if the bird is dancing. Lovely. I wonder if you could reduce the blue on the bird's white feathers. Hmmm - maybe it wouldn't work. I was just thinking out loud. I love the spot of red from the beak. Lovely use of neg. space.
