 Compared to some places, it never gets REALLY cold here, but by South African standards it's pretty cold right now. We don't actually use heaters at home, because they're not good for the health, but every where we go there seems to be some form of heating in use. This was taken at an auction preview. It appears the staff were using it before it went up for sale. I'd guess it's been around a long time.

I like the lighting and shadows. lol you know, I guess I never would have thought you needed heaters in South Africa. Goes to show what I know.

Nice little piece of your culture in your blog. I guess when you are used to extreme heat, even a temp of around 50 could be cold. Thanks for sharing.

A heater - gee! 112 here today. 117 predicted for July 4th. That should heighten the fire danger from fireworks just a tad.

Amazing how even when it's 90 degrees out, I can look at this picture and still think, "mmm, that looks cozy". Maybe it's the contrast of the warmth vs. the cold tile floor. Good job.

i cannot imagine a heater right now! too hot. but your heater is fine! nice warm tones, great light on the tile floor, good focus and DOF.

Very cool! Thanks for the insight on the culture in South Africa..it is neat to hear how others live. Usually at 75 degrees I am cold :) I do have to run my heat although I would rather be cold than hot!
