As I understand it, Marie Antoinette was not so much an aristocratic snob with no concern for the local peasants, but rather she was, at heart, simply a dumb blond. When she heard that the peasants were revolting because they had no bread, she assumed the stores were closed and they should switch to something sweet.
We Americans have Paris Hilton and have, unfortunately, reacted with the same vitriol as the revolting French. I mean seriously folks, she just can't help it --There's major capacity problem here. It's like trying to explain politics to a bunny and getting mad when he just twitches his nose and humps the bunny next to him. A bunny's gotta do what a bunny's gotta do. And Paris Hilton's gotta do.... well whatever it is she does. We should put down the pitch forks and just be glad there are more bunnies than Hiltons.
Besides, as the Riddler once said, "If you kill her, she won't learn nothin'."
Anyway, we had cake today at the Palm. And in fact we had run out of bread. |

this slice of chocolate cake looks very very yummy ..
& yes .. 'poor' paris ... !!! ... its just unfortunate that the press hound her all the time, it just adds to her already woeful reputation .. of course it takes all kinds, and if she was just a 'normal' and unfamous person the damage she could do would probably be minimal .. but being so famous it automatically gives her a certain responsibility, the responsibility of being aware of your affect on the more impressionable minds ... unfortunately if you go for a more responsible lifestyle then it follows that you will become boring and the press may lose interest ... bit of a catch 22 really ... altho i dont know if she would be aware of all that being a product of her own upbringing .. :) |

Didn't Paris find God in jail? hmmmm Well you know she didn't find chocolate cake there - I doubt the girl eats much yummy stuff. I've never seen such a deep analysis to go along with dessert. Looks good! Hope you enjoyed it. |

Hey walter, I never knew you were doing this challenge cool.
Nice shot although the focus is a bit odd, for my tastes (and chocolate cake is always to my taste I might have cropped really high on this one so you just got the chocolate fondant on the top and the blue plates (which I am not sure why but I just love) in the background

Lovely story. Rather enjoyed your take on it :) And the cake looks delicious, even though I'm not such a fan of chocolate, thankfully! |

Well you're headed in the right direction for Day 3, as far as I'm concerned. That looks really good. And your Paris/bunny analogy is hilarious! Is that Marie Antoinette story true? |

LOL! Great story along with this scrumptious-looking photo. Maybe the focus is a teeny bit too shallow? Yummy-looking anyway. :) |

Yummmmo. But are those packets of Splenda in the background? A visual oxymoron? |
