A series of benches normally used by people to sit down and view the landscape. I wanted to hit two different aspects of the theme, the benches are view points, shot from an interesting point of view. I wanted grayscale in order to emphasize the forms and lines of the benches.

Hi, thanks for all your comments. You've all been very helpful, especially with your different interpretations. The shot was taken in a park on a very windy day at sunset, when no one was around. I purposely tried to infuse a degree of mystery in the photo.

Very interesting. Where was this taken? Backyard? Old folks home? Beach? Park?

I really like the glowing section of the second chair, it really adds a lot to the contrast of the image.

Unfortunately being on SC I had the opportunity to view the original color version of this shot when proof was requested. I have to say I liked the color version better, but don't know if I would have even considered it had I not SEEN the color version. If that makes sense. I like the lines, like the curves, and the pov is interesting. not sure how I feel about the sun beams. They don't seem to follow the angle of the POV, which draws my eyes away from that a bit. Overall though, I think it's a very nice image. ~Heather~

Nice. I like the flare. Just as a fyi. I get the impression that each of these chairs are on top of a coffin and the coffins are holding the spirits of people that have sat in the chairs. Morbid. Evening is falling and the spirits will be able to come topside to look at the world from their chairs.

I enjoy the mystery of this image & location - and find interesting your (cropped and tilted?) angle of view, which encompasses a necessary diagional to include all the chairs . The repeated diagonal of the lens flare is a added bonus to the soft atmosphere to this composition.

I don't like that the seats are titled forward. It might look better being level, not sure... But the image itself is pretty interesting with the strong highlights and dark areas.

Something almost spooky about this. I think it's the distance between the chairs? Great contrasty lighting, I like it...

Nice b&w, the high contrast looks great. The sunbeams look cool too! 9

nice pov, but a little crop would make it much better. taking out the sky and moving the front seat to corner.
