Also known as Rose-ring gaillardia, Showy gaillardia, or Firewheel.
This flower can be found growing all over the state of Kansas in disturbed sites, fields and roadsides. It prefers dry, open, sandy soils.

Quite magical, and I love the strong red and yellow color, of the flowwer in front, against the soft greens of the wonderful spring DOF background.....

very nicely done...one of my favorite flowrs ( I have a lot of them :)
the focus on the beautiful main flower, combined with the soft focus bg looks so nice together. And the colors are great! I lke your border also...

Beautiful image. The red and orange of the flowers goes so well with green. I like the focus, the whole flower in front is in focus, but the grass, other flowers, are every so beautifully soft.
