the color version to my B&W entry for today...now that I see it online, I think I may prefer this one...

This is BeeBalm, aka Monarda didyma, or Bergamot. A member of the same family as CatNip & Mints, and equally as prolific... It is one of the spiciest smelling flowers in the perennial world and a fantastic attractant for hummers & bees

I loved photographing this today b/c it was intoxicating to smell it as I worked :)

Wowzers! That could almost be an entry to "nightmares".

I do believe I like this color version better. Not only does that scarab beetle have a metallic sheen, so do the stamens! I would like to see a little more negative space on the left.

Darn you.
As much as I liked the B&W version of it, this really looks great - especially the green/red together on the underside of the leaves.

I like the color version better myself. Poor little beetle. Oh I just got the shivers thinking of the crunch.

I see what you mean by electric colour!...lol. Have you tried a little selective desat on just the greens and maybe the yellows?
