DAY 8
Thanks again to Mike and Gayle for free reign in their garden.

Taken around 7pm, getting shadowy, and a little wind.
DOF a little too narrow, wanted spider and leaf in focus, flower slightly soft. only got the leaf crisp, and flower a little too soft.

Cloned out some frass(bug droppings) but couldn't do a good enough job on the bits under the left legs so I left those. Played with Bear_Music curves, apply image in soft light. I like the effect but don't have enough understanding. I'm learning what I want in a floral shot faster than I'm learning how to do it.

20 minutes later
I just looked at this on line. ether I was feeling hypercitical when I posted it or the sharpening at the end cleaned it up a lot. I'm much happier now

The little hairs stand out well.

Everything looks to be in focus; I especially like how the plant hairs stand out. I'm having a bit of trouble really seeing the details on the flower and spider. Not sure, but it might be because the lighting seems to have washed some of it out.

Love all the "fuzzy"...nice contrast against the un-fuzzy spider.

I think the sharpening is just right on this. The strongest part of this image IMO is the composition. Goodjob

That's a sunflower. Never seen them at this stage before. Cool.

Good composition. Knowing what I want always comes first, it kinda has to. Getting my skill lvel to match my desire is a life-long effort. The game is never 'over.' At least for me. Sometimes, if I can't get what I want, I go with what's there & acquire new desires by surprise. It makes for a grand obsession.

Very well done. Love the clarity.

Amen to learning what you want VS how to achieve it! I'm going through that as well.
I like this shot and I think the detail is wonderful. I like the softness of the flower and the hairy edges of the leaves show up nicely.
