 The trickiest part of this picture was persuading my wife to get her hands dirty. She was also my hand model for which was a lot more glam ;-)
Setup was a large piece of cardboard with a hole cut in, my wife put her hand up though, I then covered this in soil and snapped away.

Simple but effective. Good lighting. It does look a bit too much like potting soil though.

You know this is one of the most popular #1 fear, I like the image. just a thought, it would have been really cool to get a picture from like inside a casquet, with some one trapped, but anyways great pic.

Creapy, creapy, creapy! Well captured image - love the dirt on the hands and the lighting. It kind of reminds me of the final scene in the movie "Carrie"
