 This was taken at Gibson Woods, a local forest preserve that has a few trails and small nature center. It's about 5 minutes from work and when I have time and weather permits I run there, eat lunch quickly, and then head back to work. That way when I get home after work after being gone for 11+ hours (long commute) I have more time to spend with the family.

They have wildflowers planted in front of the nature center and I took some quick shots. OK, maybe not so quick since I took an extra long lunch... Anyway it was this or a butterfly and I liked the colors in this one. Processing was similar to my Day 6 picture. I created a duplicate layer and applied a blur of 25 pixels, in multiply mode. I then sharpened background layer. Besides applying a slight darkening of edges and slight hue/sat adjustment, it was just getting levels how I wanted.

Does the word "bokeh" apply here? Just love the spots of color in the background. I want to call this "the sad drooping flower" lol. The softness is a nice touch here.

This is so spring in color and composition, and only wish it were spring here, as it is still very cold, and the middle of our winter.....
