Great shot, I like the sleepiness in their eyes. Looks like they have an adventure ahead! I really like the B&W |

I think the B&W works wonderfully. It's amazing how converting to B&W can almost magically fix a photo. I know that's a bad way to go about thinking but it seems to work that way, doesn't it? |

Fun photo and story. The two men look a little apprehensive about their trip - like maybe they just should have stayed in bed? LOL! Very cute capture. |

No offense taken at all! Yes, I blurred out the troop number and the name of the town where we live. Mostly because I also post these to my blog, where I post a lot more personal stuff than I do here, which could, in theory, make my family more of a target, on the very slim chance that anyone ever went looking for a target. My main concern is that the Internet has a really long memory, and all the information I put on my blog (or anywhere) will generally be findable in some way for who knows how long, thanks to Google's archiving and similar stuff, even if I take it down someday. I remember when I first had Internet access and a humble little online presence, I threw my full name and similar personal info around without even thinking about it, and when I got uneasy about that years later, it was virtually impossible to undo. I didn't want to somehow again find myself regretting making personal information available, at some future time.
It's a tough line to walk between caution and overcaution, but I try. :) My caution doesn't drive me off the Internet or keep me from posting pictures of my kids, but a little blurring on a couple of t-shirts didn't seem like too much of a sacrifice. :) |

I think it looks fine. I like the black and white. So we have seen your husband in two different types of hats now. And not smiling hehe.
This is a great father/son pic and will be something fun for you guys to look at later in life. |

I agree that b&w works well here. It's a classic Scout shot -- only the hats have changed. |

Definitely has a start of the day feel about it which is nicely accentuated by the soft tones and contrast of the conversion
I love the contrasting expressions on the faces of the two men in your life, your son has that eagerness in his eyes whilst your husband seems to be asking 'how did I get myself suckered into this'
Maybe not technically perfect but a lot more human and nicer than many photos that are

Besides being a really good B&W conversion, it's family and that makes it better yet. I'm tempted to take a day off and then it would be tooooo easy not to start. It's good though to make sure I shoot every day. |

I think that the black and white really worked here. I know what you mean about the way some color shots just lack so much until they are converted to black and white. Your husband doesn't look so happy about being up early, either. |
